The counseling process will be started after the declaration of JEE Main 2022 result. The counseling process will be conducted through online mode, It is managed by Josa.
The counseling for vacant seats is handled by CSAB (Central Seat Allocation Board). will be held in different rounds, JEE Main counseling process includes various stages like registration, choice filling, seat allotment, seat acceptance and reporting to the allotted college.
JEE Main 2022 counseling schedule
JEE Main Result 2022 has been declared 11th July 2022 for the first session and 8 August 2022 For the second session exam. JEE Main 2022 counseling process will be conducted in online mode,
Seat allotment will be issued 18 September 2022. It will be released for different rounds. CSAB and JoSAA counseling will be started by online mode on the website.

JEE Main counseling process
The counseling process is divided into different steps Which are mentioned below:
To participate in the counseling process, candidates have to register. Visit the official website of JoSAA (link given above),
Firstly, login through JEE Main 2022 Roll Number and Password. Fill all the registration details carefully. After filling all the details, click on the “Confirm Registration” button.
Choice Filling and Locking:
Candidates have to pay any fee for choice filling and locking. Candidates have to fill and lock their choice by login. Candidates have to fill maximum number of choices for seat allotment.
After filling the options, do not forget to lock them. In case candidates forget to lock their choices, the last saved choices will be automatically locked.
Provisional Seat Allotment:
As per the filled choices, the seat will be allotted to the candidates. Candidates have to take printout of “Provisional Seat Allotment Letter” and E-Challan for seat acceptance.
While accepting the seat, candidates have to choose freeze, slide or float option for subsequent rounds.
Seat Acceptance and Fee Payment:
Seat acceptance fee will be Rupee. 20,000/- For reserved categories and Rs. 45,000/- for general candidates. Candidates have to pay the fee through E-Challan and SBI Net Banking. Candidates paying the fee through E-Challan must take a printout of the same for further use.
Reporting at the allotted reporting center for verification:
After the seat acceptance fee payment, candidates have to appear at the reporting center for verification. Candidates have to bring the required documents to the centre.
The seat will be confirmed by the reporting center after verification of documents. If candidates fail to report at the allotted center their offer will be rejected.
Reporting to the allotted college:
Once the seat is confirmed by the reporting centre, candidates will have to report to the allotted college or institute. Students have to bring the prescribed documents and admission fee by the allotted college.
Documents required for verification
After seat allotment, candidates have to appear at the reporting center for seat acceptance. Candidates must bring their original documents and one set of self attested photocopies.
After verification, the original documents will be returned to the candidates. The documents required for verification are mentioned below:
- Three passport size photographs (same as uploaded in JEE Main application)

- 12th class performance check
- Undertaking by the candidate
- Proof of seat acceptance fee payment
- Photo Identity Card (issued by the government/last attended school/12.)th class admit card)
- JEE Main 2022 Admit Card

- Date of Birth Proof (10.)th class marksheet)
- 12th Class mark sheet and passing certificate (if available)
- medical certificate
- Category Certificate (if applicable)
